My posts are at a mere trickle these days… It’s not that I don’t love you… It’s just that you end up at the bottom of a very long list full of other lists. Regardless, I have decided to feed you some clips of things what I like. I hope you enjoy.
The Rethink Scholarship advert is also amazing… Well worth a watch.
Very much excited about seeing what Chris Morris does with his new feature called ‘Four Lions’. As quoted from the Mirror newspaper:
“Described as doing for the modern face of terrorism what “This Is Spinal Tap” did for heavy metal and “Dr Strangelove” the Cold War, “Four Lions” tells the story of a group four wannabe suicide bombers from the North of England.”
The clip floating about online looks good and feedback from Sundance festival also sounds positive.
In the meantime, I’m going to geek out on my DVD’s of ‘The Day Today’ and ‘Brass Eye’.
When I was a kid there was nothing better than managing to catch a glimpse of a Beastie Boy video. Everything about them was so f***ing cool. Effortless style and confidence in what they were doing. I just want to know what happened to this kind of act? How come it doesn’t exist anymore?
I’ve just been researching their music for a video we’re shooting for one of my shows and I came across some great old vids, so wanted to share with anybody that happens to read my blog!
Wow, I’m really dropping the ball on my blogging frequency! In fairness I’ve been pretty busy producing ‘Russell Howard’s Good News‘ for BBC3 and also ‘Mouth To Mouth‘ also for BBC3… Needless to say, it’s been a very busy end to 2009!
Anyway, I’ve seen so much good stuff on the internet that has inspired me that I thought I’d post a few links of things I’ve seen in the hope that anybody sniffing around here doesn’t think I’m just some creepy Michael Jackson fan (yes my last blog post was more ’emo’ than an episode of ‘One Tree Hill’).
So to kick off, I’ve just seen a beautiful animation by Andersen M Studio. I’m a huge fan of making things textured, hand made even. There is always something warm about images that look like they have been crafted by hand.
Some things have just made me laugh… Proper belly laugh.
Until the next blog… Adieu!
Having just finished shooting a series written by the very talented Mr Karl Minns (he paid me to write that). I just revisited a pilot he wrote that never picked up a commission on BBC3 and I think it could definitely do with being revisited.
