Mark Iddon

My name is Mark Iddon. I’m a TV/Multiplatform producer and have been working in the Television industry for 8 years. My background is a bit of an eclectic mish mash, from producing children’s, comedy, animation & live action TV to working in interactive TV (red button) and online projects.

I’ve worked within the BBC’s multiplatform productions development team working on many innovative and exciting projects. One of the main purposes for my role was to help bridge the divide between TV producers and online technology, guiding the development process towards and through commission.

I’m currently producing a comedy/drama for Avalon Television which will go out on BBC3 in 2008, called ‘Mouth To Mouth’, which also has a fully integrated online offering to go with it.

So why am I a multiplatform monkey?

Well… I like to think of myself as platform agnostic. I’m all about creating great content and working with whatever platforms then suit it. Whether that’s TV, online, mobile or radio, I have spent the last few years understanding the different technologies involved in these platforms so that I can now just focus on creating great stuff; without worrying about the ever changing places it needs to go.

I love the fact that with this multiplatform world there are so many different ways for a good idea to reach its audience; and this blog is a place where I hope to highlight and share things which I find fun, exciting, innovative and interesting.

This is, of course, my own personal blog so the views expressed in here are mine all mine and not necessarily those of my employer.
