I wanted to point you all in the direction of this great post by Henry Jenkins on his ‘Confessions Of An Aca/Fan’ blog. It looks at transmedia narrative, focusing in on ‘Heroes’ and how this series has used transmedia devices in order to expand on its universe. It’s a great read, not only because it is full of links to some cracking research papers, but also because it deconstructs how Heroes used the comic book medium to great effect and at a low cost when compared to other transmedia narrative opportunities.
